Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. has announced that its next-generation EyeSight collision avoidance system will be installed in new vehicles it will launch in 2014.
The new EyeSight system uses a color-recognizing camera to detect the brake light color of the car in front and automatically stops the vehicle in the event of a possible collision, the maker of Subaru vehicles said Wednesday. While the existing EyeSight uses black and white images to analyze the situation in front of the car, the new color recognition technology enables the vehicle to detect red light.
