New Yomiuri building opens

The new headquarters of The Yomiuri Shimbun Holdings and The Yomiuri Shimbun opened in Otemachi, Tokyo, on Monday.
The first to sixth floors of the 33-story Yomiuri Shimbun Building are designated as an active zone for cultural and regional exchange activities. An exhibition on the Tokyo-Hakone collegiate ekiden started Monday in the third-floor gallery.Titled "Hakone Ekiden -Sono Sokuseki o Furikaeru-" (Hakone Ekiden -Looking back on its history-), the exhibition features items related to the ekiden and reviews the 90 races held so far. Memorable race scenes are introduced through photos and other images.
The exhibition will run through Jan. 31, except for Sundays and a national holiday on Jan. 13. Admission is free.
